Whats a good way to advertise cat adoptions?

i volunteer for an organization that takes care of homeless cats. we dont put them down. what would be a good way to advertise in other areas that we have very sweet and very normal cats and kittens that NEED homes? ive already thought of a car wash funraiser to raise money and awareness. also i was thinking about puting up fliers at a big brothers big sisters club or something. any ideas?
