A mil means 1/1000. At 100 yds, 3,600 inches, each dot is 3.6" apart at 100 yds. at 300 yds or 10800", each dot is 10.8" apart. Basically take 3.6" and divide by 100 and multiply by the distance and that will be the distance between the dots. At 400 yds, the dots would be 3.6"X4 or 14.4".
