My cat's head trauma caused blindness. Is their anything that can be done?

This happened a year and a half ago. He was rushed to the animal hospital and treated for extensive head traumas and had his jaw wired shut for a couple of weeks. Since the accident his eyes appear fully dilated and he cannot see out of either. The doctor said this may go away and that he could do nothing for this. Since time has ped the one eye has turned white (like a blind person's eyes) the other remains the normal color and is still dilated. Is their anywhere else I can go as far as eye specialists for cats. I live in Philadelphia and the cat was treated at University of Pennsylvania.
