Issue connecting to Linksys-G Wireless Router with iPhone?

Ok, I have had this router for years and it wasn't locked. I decided to get my wife to stop bickering about getting it locked to go into the settings and lock it. Well, no I cannot link to my router using my iPhone or iPad. It asks me for my pword, and when I put it in, it tells me it's incorrect.... I know the pword it right. What am I doing wrong? Why can I not connect to Wi-Fi with my phone and pad and how do I go back and unlock it?? HELP!
