CAn you help me with this commandment?

Praise God for your question. Honor our parents as parents. ie give them allowance when they ill-treat you. Don't rebuke them, don't lose your temper, don't retaliate. Be pive towards their offence. Meaning losing your rights in regard to trying to justify yourself. But if they slander against God you must stand boldly for the truth for this is the will of God. God has purposed for you to be a light in your family for His glory. There is a time to speak and a time to keep silence but all for His glory. If the offence is against you, take it with patient endurance joyfully for God will bless you for it and it will bear fruit for spiritual growth. Let them see that you are a true servant of Christ, holding faith no matter whatever insults they throw at you shouldn't move you a fraction of an inch. I know it's not going to be easy. But think of it this way. To accept reproach is good for your soul. Cry to the Lord in your prayer closet, He will heal all your wounds and restore you twofold! God is near those who are broken and contrite in spirit. If you don't, you will only end up with greater bitterness, and harden your heart and allow all sort of negativity to creep in and make you stray from God and even feel like God's presence has left you. It is a temptation. Don't give in to the evil one in your life. The peace of the Lord is at stake. Seek after peace. So the better way is to take everything as a trial of faith. God will show Himself a righteous and just God, fighting all your battles for you. That is, if you don't fight for yourself.
